Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach/Teacher

 

The Blytheville School District is seeking a High School Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach with additional coaching duties and certification in a subject for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Teacher/Coach shall be under the direction of the superintendent and athletic director and immediately responsible to the building principal of their school for executing the policies of the local school board and the policies of the state board of education as they relate to the function of the school, the classroom, and the immediate contact with students and parents.  The teacher/coach should facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum. The teacher/coach specific responsibilities shall be:

 

  1. To direct and evaluate the learning experiences of students in both curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  2. To provide guidance that will promote the welfare and proper educational development of the students.
  3. To seek professional aid of the school principal and athletic director.
  4. To be responsible of child accounting.
  5. To maintain a cordial and workable relationships with parents.
  6. To administer in a professional manner the classroom and its program.
  7. To provide for the care and protection of school property.
  8. To participate in faculty meetings.
  9. To cooperate with and participate in the planning and evaluation of the school program.
  10. To maintain a cordial and workable relationship with colleagues.
  11. To perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
  12. Manage and supervise athletic activities and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
  13. Additional coaching duties may apply.

 

Applicants must have an Arkansas Teacher License with certification in a subject and a Coaching Certificate.

 

Must pass an Arkansas State Police, FBI and DHS background check.
