Blytheville High School is accepting applications for an Art teaching position.
JOB GOAL:
To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development incorporating a framework clustered into four domains of teaching responsibility: planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university teacher education program.
- Arkansas teacher’s license appropriate for level and/or subject area assignment.
- Competence in the total teaching experience demonstrated in the submission of an electronic portfolio that highlights designing coherent instruction, the use of questioning and discussion techniques, engaging students in learning, and the incorporation of technology in the classroom.
- Relevant teaching experience.
- Working knowledge of relevant technology.
Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Teaches assigned subject area using the course of study.
- Planning and Preparation: Plans, prepares, and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences, demonstrating pedagogy, knowledge of students, instructional goals, knowledge of resources, coherent instruction, and assessing student learning.
- Classroom Environment: Establishes a culture of learning: managing classroom procedure and student behavior, as well as organizing physical space. Applies appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
- Instruction: Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved – communicating with students, using questioning and discussion techniques, engaging students in learning, using assessment in instruction, utilizing technology, etc. Integrates STEM concepts and inquiry methodologies into units and lessons.Effectively infuses technology into instructional activities and the overall learning experiences.
- Professional Responsibilities: Develops and adheres to professional responsibilities – reflecting on teaching, maintaining accurate records, communication with families, contributing to the assigned School and the District at large, growing and developing professionally, showing professionalism, using data to inform instruction, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
